Just submit my summer work to NAACL. Preparing for IJCAI now.

An old saying in Chinese, “祸兮福所倚，福兮祸所伏”. My KDD paper had been rejected 6 times before it got accepted, ICDM 2018, WWW 2019, KDD 2019, WSDM 2020, WWW 2020. In the initial version, we focus on a general random walk method. Later, we decide to narrow down the scope and focus on a specific task. I went back to the original version and used it as an extension for a journal. Maybe it is time to prepare the cover letter and submit it.

Hmmm, the paper I finished last summer has been rejected 3 times. I got 8,6,5 at AAAI2020, almost all negative feedbacks in IJCAI 2020 and AAAI 2021. What a hot topic the Recommendation system is. Last year, there are only two or three methods applying GCN for the recommendation system. Now, tens of papers appear. The method is not novel anymore. After a discussion with co-authors, I have decided to submit it to a workshop. Really don’t know how to deal with it if it gets rejected again.

For me, It doesn’t matter whether it published or not. However, other coauthors also made a lot of effort and I don’t want to let them down. Hope we can get it this time!

I have just finished the extended abstract for ICDE 2021. By default, it will be accepted. Finallly, I’ll have a paper, although not a regular paper, in top database conference.

IDK whether I have a chance to Greece next year.

Hmmm, I submitted several applications for interns next summer. I didn’t even move to the interview stage from Facebook. So competitive.
